Facebook Messages for business?

We all know that the way people communicate is rapidly changing. People love the experience they get from social tools like Facebook. But in the end almost everyone has email. Email is embedded into our mobile phones, into our personal and business workflows.

We've decided to make email integration as tight as possible and below you'll find one example of such integration.

1. Create a note or task in Discourse
 2. Your customer will get an email notification - he can respond directly from his email client.
3. His email is automatically connected with the original note (we create note-comment or task-comment thread)

Bonus: you will also receive email notification that new comment was added. So you can respond via email as well! Your whole customer conversation is archived in Discourse and you have it in your mailbox.

Gee. Threaded email clients have been around for decades. Why are you reinventing the wheel just because the Internet noobs in your office only know how to work Facebook and a Web browser? Just buy a decent email client or use GMail.

It's not about threads - it's about context. All conversations in Discourse have Project od Deal context. We are changing the UI to better reflect this fundamental difference!

Today, social media site such as Facebook is being utilized to get direct traffic since this popular networking site generates real-time traffic. That is also the reason why there are now many SEO firms that offer Social Media Marketing.

This is an old thing used and reinvented many times over the years. It being integrated in facebook doesn't really mean it's a new product and a brainchild of Zuck's.

I find these social media tools helpful in a business. Facebook is one good example of these tools. Most businesses consider it because of what it does for their websites.

I prefer more security and integrity with my business messages, but I suppose Facebook can help make communication be more intimate and personal.

Until Facebook rolls out a policy that it will have absolutely no access to my private messages, I will leave business matters to secure e-mails.

There's no assurance that Facebook will never get hacked, as user actions can actually bring webspam and hacking into the platform. Even with SSL, I doubt they'll be uncrackable.

I think business emails should be kept separately. We must not entrust our private messages to Facebook and other social media websites. It is good to know that they are offering this kind of service but it's better if we have a more private service provider that would save all our private conversations without any fear of hacking.
